Our History
The first Tires@wholesale location was opened in 1936 by Robert M. Purcell in Washington, Missouri. He established a second location in Granite City, Ill. In 1951. His son, Robert G. Purcell, opened a third location in DeSota, Missouri in 1964. Under the direction of Robert G. Purcell and his wife, Juanita, those three locations expanded to more than 60 locations, 3 retread plants and a fleet of vehicles that provide pick-up and delivery service to 40 states.
Tires@wholesale purchased Phelps Tire in 2016. We're happy to provide the same great service that Phelps Tire customers have come to expect.
Tires@wholesale is now ranked as the third-largest independent commercial tire dealership in North America, the nation’s largest retreader for OTR tires, and one of the 10 largest independent tire store chains in the United States.
